Objective:
Our Business Development Director - Boston will identify, establish, and engage leads and partners regionally in order to generate and sustain a pipeline of prospects to convert to Sales opportunities. This role focuses extensively on prospecting and networking to establish a solid foundation of new clients and partners. Primary responsibility is to consistency and aggressively prospect and close. 

Qualifications
  • Required: Established network of existing partners and contacts in Boston-metro related to AV, structured cabling, construction/construction management, consultant, commercial real estate, and interior architecture.
  • Required: 5+ years of proven business development results in B2B professional services setting.
  • Required: Part of an existing Boston (formal or informal) networking group for lead share, project intelligence, and champions.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional presence and professional tact.
  • Excellent follow up/follow through skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to be flexible, performing responsibilities not specifically identified in the job description and assuming new responsibilities as the company's needs change.
  • Ability to travel locally.
  • Ability to work in team-oriented settings.
  • Experience working with CRM software.
  • Demonstrated performance in a commission or incentive-based compensation program.
Responsibilities:
The Business Development Executive – Boston will identify, establish, and engage leads and partners regionally in order to generate and sustain a pipeline of prospects (qualified leads) to convert to project opportunities for Sales. This role focuses extensively on prospecting and networking to establish a solid foundation of new clients, partners, and opportunities. Primary responsibility is to consistency and aggressively prospect and close. Related responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prospect for all Verrex disciplines (Integration, GMS) in order to deliver qualified leads into the Sales pipeline, meeting annual BD goals.
  • Develop own prospect list utilizing prospecting tools and engage assigned targets, documenting all engagement in CRM.
  • As needed and requested by Sales upon delivering a qualified lead, support Account Executives to close.
  • Build partner relationships (architect, GC, real estate, etc.) in order to facilitate knowledge of immediate and upcoming projects for Verrex to target and to create partner champions.
  • Engage companies/contacts that meet Verrex core criteria in order to set up meetings to introduce Verrex services (engagement includes but not limited to phone, email, meetings). 
  • Call on key contacts at target companies to assess and qualify their need for services. Conduct appropriate number of new client appointments and calls.
  • Build relationships with senior executives to discuss their strategic and operational challenges, present best practice solutions and effectively introduce Verrex.
  • Conduct onsite presentations to educate prospects and partners on Verrex services.
  • As part of the strategy for lead generation, assist with campaign and event participation and follow-up.
  • Conduct “opportunity analyses” for prospects and develop sophisticated, custom presentations.
  • Actively pursue and participate in networking activities with key associations, business groups, regional networking groups and industry associations to yield leads and additional networking opportunities. Build a personal networking channel for lead exchange.
  • Develop and share “best practices” of effective targeting and strategies with entire team.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop tactics and programs to contact targets, secure appointments with targets, and to maintain ongoing communication with targets.
  • Perform pre-call research to qualify leads.
  • Review assigned prospect accounts monthly to gauge progress; determine accounts to remain engaged one-on-one and accounts to be reassigned to Marketing for generic follow up.
