NATIXIS Asset Management Advisors (formerly IXIS Asset Management Advisors Group), sought to upgrade and improve the audio and video performance of their boardroom during weekly, international videoconference calls. After a needs analysis of their applications and a review of the current systems components and capabilities, Verrex determined a course of action to provide the highest quality audiovisual solution.
CHALLENGES
NATIXIS required completion of the entire project, with minimal downtime, in less than two weeks. A number of general contractor tasks had to be expertly coordinated such as drilling holes into the existing conference room table, installing speakers in the drywall soffit and replacing the rear
projection system, including frame and filmscreen that were encased in custom millwork. All tasks had to be accomplished while overcoming size restrictions of the freight elevator and the narrow alleyways and streets of downtown Boston.
Verrex also needed to upgrade NATIXIS’s existing AMX control system to accommodate the new system functionality and hardware, while ensuring the touchpanel interface remained user-friendly.
SOLUTION
Verrex brought in and directed Midland Construction to perform the general contracting tasks, including demolition of the existing AV equipment, installation of microphones (including table modifications), creation of a custom videoconferencing codec alcove and installation of a rear
projection mirror frame system and custom filmscreen. The delicate task of drilling 10 microphone holes into the existing table required expert coordination between the project team.
SYSTEM HIGHLIGHTS
LCD projector, rear projection screen system, DVD/VCR player, audio matrix mixers, table-mount microphones, ceiling loudspeakers and custom programmed control system.
