The premier metropolitan-area shipping organization, New York Shipping Association Inc., built an executive boardroom to allow key decision makers to analyze large amounts of data and conduct critical meetings. NYSA selected Verrex to design and build an audiovisual system to accommodate the group’s presentation and colloborative communication needs.
CHALLENGES
The client needed a system for podium-based PC presentations, videoconferencing and audioconferencing. New York Shipping Association required the audiovisual system to be dynamic yet remain user-friendly. A balance had to be achieved to allow maximum flexibility and accommodate future growth while staying within the set budget.
SOLUTION
Verrex designed a display solution using a 100" rigid rear-projection screen, allowing for the display of presentations from a podium laptop, videoconferencing images and recorded material from DVD. Since the building’s management prohibited drilling through the floor, wireless microphones and a 6" touchpanel remote control were used at the conference table. To accommodate a very long and narrow room, a local voice reinforcement system was deployed using ceiling microphones and loudspeakers so users could hear each other from opposite ends of the room.
